Oil Painting – Billich Gallery

Oil Painting

Charles Billich, prominent Australian contemporary surrealist artist, has had a long and successful career in Contemporary Art and Contemporary Surrealist Art. Working predominately in oil painting, Charles Billich’s oil paintings are sought after around the globe, particularly in Australia, Europe and China, where the Billich has Billich Galleries in Sydney, Beijing and Monaco.

Charles Billich enjoys working in oil paint and is often commissioned by his loyal art collectors to create large scale oil paintings. “With oil you can create a novel, with a sketch, a page, at most a chapter,” says Contemporary Surrealist Artist Charles Billich.

Many of Charles Billich’s oil paintings are influenced by Surrealism, the cultural movement that began in the early 1920s, and is best known for its oil paintings depicting sometimes unnerving, illogical scenes with photographic precision. One of the leading artists within the Surrealism movement was Surrealist Artist Salvatore Dali.

Some of the contemporary oil painting works of Charles Billich, Australian contemporary surrealist, have been influenced by Surrealist artist Salvatore Dali so it is with great excitement that a prominent collection of works by Salvatore Dali are set to be showcased in the Billich Sydney Art Gallery later in 2018. It is the first time that this collection of Salvatore Dali surrealist works have been brought to Australia for permanent exhibition and sale. The collection will first tour around Australia before coming on permanent display in the Billich Sydney Art Gallery in Sydney’s The Rocks area.
