Billich's phenomenal talent was first recognised in 1996 when Charles was appointed by 3 great sporting organisations - He became Artist for the Australian and US Olympic Teams, Atlanta 1996, Artist for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Melbourne in that same year and was commissioned to create the Commemorative Centenary Painting for the Australian Football League. Since then, Charles’ phenomenal talent has been recognised the world over, from Italy to the UK, from Greece to the United States by Kings and President’s, Pope’s to Shaolin Monks.

His brilliance has been noticed and rewarded having been recognised through receipt of the Victorian Heritage & Cultural Award in 1988 and a Doctorate of Philosophy Honoris Causa-United States Sports Academy. Charles has never been one to ‘hide his light under a bushel’ with his works globally recognised. According to Charles, his work will never be done, his drive, flair and preparedness to be both contemplative and bold fuels the creative flame from within.
