In the making of Billich's latest artwork we created a 3 part video series for you to get a sense of what Billich was thinking and inspired to create 'Seal it with a Kiss'.
In the first video, Billich discusses the importance of the colours chosen as they will be dominating the message you are putting across in the end. Warm colours are a favourite for Billich in conveying pictorially the concept of sensuality, errotision, affection and love.
"The choice of colours is always strategy No. 1 for painting" states Billich.
"I love the metaphor of sealing it with a kiss - and what better metal than pure gold to seal a kiss. A kiss is passion, a kiss is giving, a kiss is emotion.. there is no end to the meanings of a kiss"
"Kissing is one of the most addictive pursuits. Painting of a pair of lips which are very very kissable.. are they kissable? When is a pair of lips finished? When is the painter's job done? Or shall we kiss again and see what it looks like again!"
